On Halloween night, an opossum experiences an anxious meltdown.
This was a quick turnaround project in response to an LA Loft Movie Club prompt, that also served as my capstone project for an expressions coding course. My goal was to make something with rigged characters that felt hand-drawn and something code-driven that felt analogue.
Ink on paper linework, scanned and assembled in TV Paint and After Effects. The majority of the character animation is driven by AE expressions tied directly to the music track's bpm, meaning that you could change out the music track to something with a different bpm and still have all of the dancing be in perfect sync with the beat. Backgrounds feature additional shading and color done with Spellbook Airbrush, my airbrush texture brush set for Photoshop.
